Tooting Market

In March 2011 , The Brick Box were invited to bring their art, love and magic to Tooting Market. The owners wanted to increase footfall and bring a wider audience to the under-used space.

With support from the Greater London Authority, the Mayor of London, Wandsworth Council and the Tooting Town Centre team, The Brick Box programmed a wide range of events in the market.

We worked with a wide range of community groups and artists to animate and enjoy the space. Our daytime events were always free and we usually made a small charge for our night time events in order to deliver high-quality safe events.

In April 2012, The Brick Box cafe in Tooting Market closed. Our cafe partners decided to move on to another project, the Outer London Fund Round 1 came to an end, and we were unable to continue. However the legacy of our work continued with projects such as Construction Gallery, our involvement in the Wandsworth Arts Festival, and community consultation work in Balham.
