The Toast Temple

The Toast Temple was a Wandsworth Arts Festival 2014 commission to research and develop local audiences for arts and culture. Devised by The Brick Box in collaboration with Urban Projects Bureau and Bureau of Silly Ideas, supported by Arts Council England.

Toast has the power to transform and enhance our lives. It offers us peace, steadfast friendship, and strength in times of trial. Toast leads us to happiness.

We invited fellow devotees to bathe in the presence of The Toast Temple, to rejoice in the golden majesty of The Slice and to share our love for the carb. Because we are passionate about toast. We are passionate about art. We are passionate about the art of making toast and celebrating the creativity inherent in everyday life.

People from all walks of life joined us at The Toast Temple as we visited the six town centres of the London Borough of Wandsworth during May 2014.
